23rd Enzyme Mechanisms Conference
Friday January 4th 2013
2 PM
Members of the radical SAM superfamily catalyze radical-initiated reactions involving diverse chemistries and a wide variety of substrates. A recent estimate is that the superfamily includes >48,000 members. The workshop will present an overview of how sequence similarity networks can be used to decipher the functional complexity of the radical SAM superfamily. The workshop also will illustrate the utility of in silico modeling and docking to predict substrate specificities of unknown members of the superfamily.
This is an abbreviated version of a pilot workshop on the Radical SAM Superfamily that was held at UCSF in September 2012. Read more here.
To ensure that we have appropriate seating and materials, please sign up below if you'd like to attend the mini-workshop at the 23rd Enzyme Mechanisms Conference (note this is separate from your EMC registation).
